Here's how downtown Fort Smith can keep its food trucks

Fort Smith Times Record They bring the service and product of a restaurant to the outdoors. They re known for their creative recipes, serving everything from personal pizzas and turkey Reubens to pulled-pork fries and tacos. And compared to a restaurant, they re inexpensive to operate. For the past decade, food trucks have grown in popularity throughout the country. Like in many cities across the United States, Fort Smith residents have expressed a desire for food trucks in the downtown area. All of downtown is zoned for food trucks, which may set up in the area for a fee of $150 if filed in the first half of the year and $75 if filed in the second half of the year. The city has identified the right-of-way at Cisterna Park as an area specifically zoned for this.

PHOEBE TOLLEFSON A medical marijuana business with a history of disputes with the city of Billings is suing, saying a police detective engaged in “judicial deception” amid ongoing efforts to shut down the dispensary. Montana Organic Medical Supply, or MOMS, sued in U.S. District Court on Tuesday, naming the state, the Department of Health and Human Services, two of its employees, the city of Billings and a police detective. MOMS is owned by Steven Palmer. Palmer said that in 2018, the state health department inspected his business’ cultivation facility near Emigrant and its dispensary, previously located at 2918 Grand Ave. in Billings.
