In america today, approximately 60 of those in jail or prisons are addicted to alcohol or drugs. Each year, thousands of those incarcerated reenter society. Today we have shifted into the 1960s. One of the things about the 1960s is this idea that a lot of americans felt they were on the precipice of promise, of greatness. It held a lot of possibilities and opportunities in the postwar era. Had just been elected president.
