Indian National Army: An ignored legacy? (Representative Pic)  The mega celebrations to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence began on March 12, 2021, when the Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav” event by flagging off a 241-mile march from Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad to Dandi in Gujarat’s Navsari district to mark the day. As part of the celebrations, the Publications Division of the Government of India will publish books on unsung heroes of the freedom movement, women freedom fighters, battles and freedom fighters from North-East India and the Indian National Army trials in the Red Fort, besides others.

Deaths from oral cancer on the rise in Karachi, warn experts Karachi February 14, 2021 Oral cancer has become the most common cancer among men in Karachi and its surroundings where gutka and other forms of chewable tobacco have wreaked havoc with the lives of people, and thousands of people are annually dying in this region due to mouth or head and neck cancer. Of the 6,000 new cancer patients registered with Karachi Institute of Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine (Kiran) every year, around 35 per cent cases are of oral cancer, which are on the rise due to uncontrolled use of gutka, paan, chalia, naswaar and tobacco in several other forms.
