Miya Ponsetto, the woman dubbed as SoHo Karen for falsely accusing and attacking a 14-year-old black teen in the lobby of a Manhattan hotel in a viral video last month has been arrested in California.
Ponsetto was caught on video accusing Grammy-winning artist Keyon Harrold s teenage son of stealing her iPhone at the Arlo Hotel in SoHo, as previously reported. The video footage, shared by Harrold shows Ponsetto allegedly assaulting his son and trying to snatch his phone.

New York Times, detectives from the NYPD traveled to California to interview Ponsetto.
Though what charges Ponsetto will face as a result of her actions remain unknown, her arrest comes after the teen’s parents, legal team, and public outcry called for legal consequences.

Sharen H. Ghatan, was interviewed by
Gayle King just hours before her arrest. In the interview, Ponsetto refused to take responsibility for the actions she took against the teen, though she admitted she could’ve handled the situation differently.
Ponsetto had falsely accused the Black teenager of taking her cellphone and demanded that he give it back in a video that went viral on social media. Tensions then escalated, with the woman insisting that the teenager had the phone, yelling at him and eventually tackling him and trying to look in his pockets before they could be separated, Harrold said.
He said he believed that he and his son, Keyon Harrold Jr., may have been racially profiled, though he said he did not know the race of the woman.
Ponsetto s LA-based attorney Sharen H. Ghatan said Thursday that Ponsetto suffers from anxiety attacks and has mental health issues.
