Trend Micro commissioned Sapio Research to interview 2565 decision-makers in 28 countries, across several industry sectors, and from organisations of all sizes, with a focus on large enterprise.
The outfit says that its survey confirms a misconception that can lead to serious security consequences. While cloud infrastructure is secure, customers are responsible for securing their own data – which is the basis of the Shared Responsibility Model for cloud.

As the use of cloud services continues to grow, enterprise architects and infrastructure & operations (I&O) leaders should use seven key elements to create a pragmatic cloud strategy for their organizations, according to Gartner.
“A cloud strategy is critical for every organization and should be a concise point of view on cloud and its role in the organisation,” says Raj Bala, senior research director at Gartner. “Moving to cloud without a cloud strategy results in ad hoc adoption patterns, resulting in higher costs, disjointed management, security vulnerabilities and overall dissatisfaction with cloud outcomes.”
