Security has been further tightened in violence-hit Manipur ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah's three-day visit to Manipur this evening, as security forces are engaged in intense gunfight with militants in several districts.
Union minister of state for home, Nityanand Rai, who has been in the state since May 25, visited some affected districts and held meetings with various organisations and community leaders.
After clashes were reported from several areas in Manipur, the Indian Army on Monday said that as many as 22 miscreants have been apprehended after being caught in the act of burning houses in Sanasabi, Gwaltabi and Shabunkhol Khunao villages in the hilly region of YKPI in Imphal.
