SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Seymour Chamber of Commerce has announced plans to have a public mural painted on the side of the Farmer’s Club building in downtown Seymour. The building has housed the offices for the chamber since 1985 and serves as the backdrop for the Burkhart Plaza park that was dedicated in late 2020.
A task force group of community leaders, stakeholders, and art students will guide the project. A request for proposals was published earlier this week through the Arts Council of Indianapolis and the Indiana Public Art Network. Artists should submit resumes, examples of artwork, a statement of technical experience, and a letter of reference.

SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Seymour Chamber of Commerce is now welcoming applications for the 2021 Dick Moren Agribusiness Scholarship.
The program awards scholarships to two Jackson County high school seniors pursuing an agricultural-related degree at a college or university in the fall of 2021.
The chamber hosts a breakfast this fall for scholarship winners, their families, area FFA members, and farmers.

Groups Recover Together is hosting a ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony on Thursday, January 14, at 1 p.m., at 321 West Bruce St., in Seymour.
The organization was founded to make treatment for opioid use respectful, accessible, and affordable.
Groups Recover Together is a community of physicians, counselors, and recovering opioid users.
