Guam orders 17,000 vaccine doses for February

Guam is administering about 1,300 doses of COVID-19 vaccine per day, at government and private clinics, according to the Department of Public Health and Social Services, which on Monday decided to expand eligibility to residents 55 and older.
There are roughly 10,000 Guam residents between the ages of 55 and 59, according to Public Health. The Vaccine and Antiviral Prioritization Policy Committee, which meets early each week, also decided to expand eligibility to:
Mayors’ Council of Guam employees, limited to mayors, vice mayors and mayoral staff;
Funeral homes, mortuary and cemetery staff;
Service providers contracted with the Department of Public Health and Social Services Division of Senior Citizens providing direct patient or client care, such as transportation for medical appointments, homebound meals, in-home services, caregiver services, case management, shelter care, adult daycare, and other direct se
On Monday, the Vaccine and Antiviral Prioritization Policy Committee approved expanded eligibility based on age.
In addition, more essential workers are eligible to receive the vaccine on Guam, according to JIC.
Those workers include:
Funeral homes, mortuary, and cemetery staff;
Service providers contracted with the Department of Public Health and Social Services Division of Senior Citizens providing direct patient or client care, such as transportation for medical appointments, homebound meals, in-home services, caregiver services, case management, shelter care, adult daycare, and other direct services
These additional groups will be accepted at all vaccination sites.
More groups might become eligible based on vaccine supply levels, participation from eligible groups and compliance from people who are due for their second doses.
