Millions of households across Charter’s 41-state operating area are eligible for a credit up to $50 per month toward qualifying Spectrum Internet plans for the duration of the program. Charter is offering a variety of broadband options under the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program and all Spectrum Internet plans available have no modem fees, data caps or contracts and include free self-installation. Charter Communications Inc. announced Wednesday that it will participate in the program. In a press release, Charter Communications said Spectrum customers with eligible plans can receive money for the duration of the program as part of the company s mission to help close the digital divide.   The discount is limited to one monthly service credit per household. Once you apply, the credit will be applied to your current bill cycle, according to Spectrum.  According to the USAC, the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program will end either when the fund runs out of money  $3.2 billion has been allocated  or six months after the Department of Health and Human Services declares an end to the COVID-19 health emergency, whichever is sooner.

The Emergency Broadband Benefit is an FCC program to help families and households struggling to afford internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic. This new benefit will connect eligible households to jobs, critical healthcare services, virtual classrooms, and so much more. Charter Communications, a supplier of internet services to South Lake Tahoe residents and millions of others in the 41 states it operates in, announced its participation in the program. Beginning today, households meeting the income thresholds are eligible for a credit up to $50 per month (up to $75 for households on Tribal Lands) toward qualifying plans for the duration of the program.
