A Sunshine Coast woman is facing fraud and forgery charges, after she allegedly preyed on vulnerable people desperate to secure a rental property, convincing them to pay thousands of dollars to secure a fake lease on a property.
“They also targeted electric bikes at premises.”
Sen-Sgt Edwards said the businesses reported having “several thousands in coins” stolen and several thousands of dollars’ worth of damage.
He said electric bicycles worth $1500 were stolen from Mooloolaba and an electric bike and backpack from Kings Beach worth $4000.
A 50-year-old and 26-year-old are in custody at the Maroochydore watch-house while a 46-year-old woman was bailed.
Sen-Sgt Edwards said the 50-year-old was charged with eight counts of enter a premises and commit an offence.
He the 26-year-old was charged with seven counts of enter and commit, two drug charges and one possess tainted property.

A 50-year-old man has been refused bail after three people were charged with a series of break ins at Sunshine Coast car washes.
Leslie Scott Saunders, from Deception Bay, was on Thursday refused bail on eight charges of entering a premises and committing an indictable offence.
Sunshine Coast Criminal Investigation Branch officer-in-charge Detective Senior Sergeant Daren Edwards on Thursday morning said Mr Saunders was one of three people charged after four car wash facilities were stolen from between September and December.
The alleged victim businesses were Shine Auto Wash at Caloundra, 24/7 Car Wash at Maroochydore, F1 Car and Dog Wash at Noosaville and Clean It Car Wash at Narangba.
The victims, Will Rogers and Charlie McKill, current and former Dolphins, are understood to be doing OK and the club has rallied around them for support. Sunshine Coast CIB officer-in-charge detective Senior Sergeant Daren Edwards said police allege the offender took hold of a beer glass and struck the two victims in the head. The incident unfolded about 7pm on New Year s Eve. The victims, aged 24 and 25, received lacerations, contusions and bruising as a result of the attack, Sen-Sgt Edwards said. The 19-year-old man was bailed under strict conditions to have no alcohol, not attend a licensed premises in Queensland and on curfew conditions.
