From midnight tonight all managed isolation and quarantine workers must be vaccinated.
The same rule will apply to all government workers in other border roles considered to be high risk, but non-government workers in these other roles are not yet covered by the rule.
Stevedores are employed to load and unload container ships at ports around the country.
In the week starting 27 February, when Gisborne started its border worker vaccine roll-out, only four of 40 stevedores were vaccinated, the region s district health board was told this week.
Jim Green said they were happy with the level of detail provided in the national Covid-19 Immunisation Register, despite the DHB not knowing how many border workers remain unvaccinated.

Port workers around New Zealand who may be handling international goods are declining the Covid-19 vaccine, according to a Gisborne health boss.
