Ohuabunwa who was a two term member of the House of Representatives and a one term senator said that the level of insecurity in Nigeria had continued to degenerate because the lawmakers had failed to hold the Executive accountable.
He tasked NASS members to take a firm stance against Executive docility over the growing insecurity in the land, arguing that protection of lives and property remains the primary function of every government.

Stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Arochukwu Local Government Area, have dismissed as a malicious and blatant lie, the media report that the Provost, Abia State College of Education (Technical) Arochukwu, Dr. Philip Nto, had declared for the 2023 governorship race of the state.
According to the stakeholders, those behind the imaginary story are not only mischievous but dwindling political desperados looking for how to cause disaffection in PDP in the council “before finally defecting to the opposition party which they have been working for”.
An online report had claimed that Dr. Nto had during a meeting in his house in Umuahia, allegedly declared self as the political leader of Arochukwu.

The Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, has promised to mobilize a contractor for the immediate reconstruction of the Nmuri bridge, Abam in Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State.
Governor Ikpeazu gave the assurance, Saturday, while speaking at the funeral ceremony of late Chief Emmanuel Ndukwe Uko Nkole, father of the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Hon. Uko Nkole.
He directed the federal legislator to immediately take engineers to the bridge to determine the cost and forward the same to him for kick-off work on Monday.
This directive from the Governor was in response to the passionate appeal made to him by the Prelate and Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, His Eminence, Most Rev Dr Nzie Nsi Eke, to help fix the bridge.
