About 2,000 teachers face unemployment

About 2,000 teachers face unemployment 16 published : 6 May 2021 at 18:35 16 A total of 1,964 teachers of maths and science under the Office of the Basic Education Commission due to be laid off in September have sought help from the Education Ministry. Somkid Homnet, president of the People s Sector Network against Corruption, said the teachers have been employed under a special project to improve the kingdom s teaching standard in maths and science since 2018. Recently, they were informed by the Office of the Basic Education Commission (Obec) that it will end the project and cease its funding. They submitted a petition to Education Minister Treenuch Thienthong on Thursday, seeking relief from the hardship of unemployment.

Funds to support Hampshire's vulnerable throughout pandemic

OVER £400k has been approved to support people facing difficulties because of the pandemic in Hampshire. A total of £459,870 in grant funding has been allocated to the voluntary and community sector across the county to help support vulnerable people. The grant is part of a £480m Contain Outbreak Management Fund given to local authorities by the Department of Health and Social Care to help reduce the spread of coronavirus and support local economies and public health. Councillor Andrew Joy, Hampshire County Council’s Executive Member for Communities, Partnerships and External Affairs, said he is delighted that the money has been donated to help the important work of the Voluntary Sector Network.

However, much as the Kenya agriculture sector seems to be developing, many are still not food secure. Each year, there will be parts of the country in dire need of relief food and dealing with the adverse effects of famine.
