Published January 15, 2021 9:01pm The League of Provinces is assisting provincial governments in the country to secure COVID-19 vaccines for their constituents through a tripartite agreement with the national government and manufacturers, its head Marinduque Governor Presbitero Velasco Jr. said Friday. We sent a survey form to all the governors to indicate how much money they want to allocate for the vaccines that we can purchase for them and at the same time we requested them to state the vaccine which they prefer, Velasco said in a Senate hearing on the government s COVID-19 immunization program. Per agreement with the National Task Force, with Secretary Charlie Galvez and Secretary [Francisco] Duque, we will collate all these things and then we will go into a tripartite agreement, he added.
The acquisition of coronavirus vaccines will be a challenging task but the government is determined to explore all means to secure the country's supply, according Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo.

Safety, efficacy should be prime factors in COVID vaccine choice: Pangilinan
HOW safe and how effective for how long should be the crucial questions answered in the choice for COVID vaccine in the Philippines, said Sen. Francis Kiko Pangilinan Tuesday, a day after the Senate agreed to his proposal to convene as one body and discuss the national government s vaccination plan. Gaano kaligtas at gaano kaepektibo hanggang kelan? Yan ang mga gusto nating malaman tungkol sa pagpili ng bakuna laban sa COVID-19, Pangilinan said.
The senator also pointed out that it is important to ensure that no corruption taint the procurement process so that the public will welcome the program.
