60 percent work of Suki Kinari Hydro Power Project completed: Asim Bajwa

Asim Bajwa said that Suki Kinari Hydro Power Project will be completed next year.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - CPEC Authority Chairman Lt Gen (Retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa Friday said that about 60 percent work of the Suki Kinari Hydro Power Project had been completed.
He said the project that is being executed under the framework of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would become operational in December 2022.

MANSEHRA, May 1 (Gwadar pro)- China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority chief Lt. General Asim Saleem Bajwa (retd) said on Friday evening that CPEC’s US$ 2 billion worth Suki Kinari Hydro Power Project is expected to become operational by December 2022.
In a tweet, Bajwa said that 60 percent work of the Suki Kinari Hydro Power Project had been completed. Bajwa’s tweet came after he attended the Secondary River Closure ceremony of the 884MW hydropower project.
On Friday, the Suki Kinari (SK) Hydropower Project in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province achieved the second-stage river closure, entering a new phase of its dam construction.
Suki Kinari Hydropower Project is the largest independent hydro power producer in Pakistan, expected to generate 3,081 GWh million units per year, the Chinese embassy in Pakistan said.
