It isnât justice. George Floyd is still dead.
The guilty verdict is for one trial. But justice requires more than one copâs accountability.

I exhaled. And I let the air go slowly. I took a breath in the name of George Floyd.
He gasped for air as Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck. While the officersâ hands were in his pocket, Floyd used his fingers, knuckles, and shoulder just to breathe underneath the weight of that copâs knees.

Chicago Police Officer Eric E. Stillman chased a boy down an alleyway.
It was the early morning of March 29. In Minnesota, opening statements in the Derek Chauvin trial were coming in a few hours. Stillman had responded to reports of gunshots in Little Village, a predominantly Latino community on Chicago’s West Side.
“Stop right now!” the officer yelled at Adam Toledo, a 13-year-old seventh grader at Gary Elementary School. “Hands. Show me your hands. Drop it. Drop it.”
A video taken by Stillman’s body camera shows Toledo apparently complying.

What Does Police Reform Look Like In Albany?
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo issued a mandate for all jurisdictions in New York to submit a police reform plan by April 1, and Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan has unveiled her plan.
The plan to reform police policies in Albany comes as former Minneapolis police officer, Derek Chauvin, is standing trial for the murder of George Floyd. Yesterday a young Black man, 20-year old Daunte Wright, was shot and killed by a different Minneapolis police officer when she “accidentally” discharged her weapon striking and killing him.
Additionally, a video was recently released of Second Lieutenant Caron Nazario of the US Army being doused with pepper spray while in uniform in Virginia. Mr. Nazario was driving his new SUV and was waiting for his permanent tags to arrive. His temporary tag was on full display in his rear window.
