The driver of the Dodge Charger involved in a crash last month that killed him and two other DeSales University students had a blood-alcohol limit of nearly twice the legal limit and was speeding at the time of the accident, police said Wednesday.
Nicholas White, 23, of Chadds Ford, Pa., at 8:35 p.m. March 6 was headed south along Lanark Road “at a speed too fast for conditions” when his Dodge traveled to the right and into the grass at a curve in the roadway, said Upper Saucon Township police, citing the findings of the investigation.
A DeSales University student and two graduates, who were killed in a crash, were remembered at a Wednesday night campus vigil, where those present also prayed for the recovery of a fellow student who survived the crash.

DeSales University baseball players are more to each other than driven student-athletes playing their hearts out on a field.
Off the field, students and alumni described the team as more like a brotherhood, connecting and banding together when someone is in need or lending support before even being asked. Familiar faces are at family get-togethers, milestones, weddings and other celebrations. Lifelong friendships are formed and extend well past graduation. It’s not uncommon to find past and current players hanging out at Lehigh Valley hot spots over the weekend.
