Deal struck for Seafood Pub Company saving East Lancashire venues and jobs
A deal to purchase six pubs previously operated by the Seafood Pub Company has been agreed – saving 150 jobs in the area. The Alma Inn in Laneshawbridge, the Derby Arms in Longridge, the Farmers Arms in Great Eccleston, the Fenwick Arms in Claughton, the Forest Inn in Fence and the Fleece Inn in Addingham will all open their doors again after being purchased by The Oakman Group. The Seafood Pub Company’s remaining two Lancashire venues, the Assheton Arms in Downham and the Oyster and Otter in Blackburn were not part of the deal.

The Fountain Inn, Barnoldswick NEW agents have been appointed to sell a portfolio of pubs which are scattered across Lancashire and Yorkshire. Owners of the properties Authentic Alehouses went bust in March of 2019 and at the time had seven venues located along the M62. Now with five left to shift - including the Fountain Inn in Barnoldswick - specialist business property advisors, Christie & Co has been re-instructed to market the portfolio of businesses on behalf of joint administrators, Simon Bonney and Michael Kiely of Quantuma. The pair were appointed on 6 March 2019. Previously operated under management and trading under the Authentic Alehouses Limited brand, the five freehold properties are broadly located within a ‘corridor’ along the M62, ranging from Driffield, East Yorkshire, to Barnoldswick, Lancashire.
