SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. Since a recent cyberattack, Scripps Health has not given News 8 many answers, but we have gotten many emails from patients telling us how they have been affected. They have also shared concerns for their health and the safety of their medical records. I just have an uncomfortable feeling that this is far worse than they are letting on, said Andrew Kaufman, a Scripps patient.

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) â In a statement on Wednesday, Scripps Health said the cyberattack that crippled its systems on Saturday, and has left the system offline since, involved malware in the hospital system s network.
The impact of the cyberattack was reported on Saturday, forcing Scripps to take a significant portion of our network offline as a proactive security measure, according to the statement.
Scripps Health has now said the outage was due to a security incident involving malware on our computer networks.

The health care system has currently suspended certain access to potential portals as well as other applications that could be related to the operations over at the Scripps facilities.The current Scripps Health is now sitting in the aftermath of a particular cyberattack that has reportedly disrupted certain patient portals and have even forced employees to result to offline chart systems.
Scripps Health Attacked: Malware?
Aside from employees now resulting in the use of offline chart systems, a number of patient appointments have then been rescheduled. According to the story by DarkReading, the health care system then confirmed that their servers had actually been attacked overnight.
