Yankees’ Luke Voit ‘looked great, felt great’ raking for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Opening Night

Yankees first baseman Luke Voit took some groundballs at first base Tuesday before going 2-for-3 with a double and a walk as a designated hitter for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in an International League game in Syracuse.

Before beginning a rehab assignment on Opening Day for minor league baseball on Tuesday night, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders’ new and temporary slugger scoped out the surroundings at NBT Bank Stadium in Syracuse. The bases being used for Triple-A games this season are 18 inches square instead of the standard 15, and they sure looked big to Yankees first baseman Luke Voit.
