The Town Council met with the Block Island Housing Board on Tuesday, May 18, to examine a proposal by Jill Stern, representing High View Glen, Inc., and Joan Grossman. The proposal is to donate three lots off of Highview Lane to the town for.

NORTH SMITHFIELD – A 977-kilowatt solar farm proposed on land owned by the Holliston Sand Company near Slatersville Reservoir received its signoff from the Zoning Board of Review last Tuesday, Feb. 23.
The company also successfully petitioned the Town Council to abandon a former paper street that will be eliminated as part of the project when they appeared before the Town Council this week.
John Pagliarini, an attorney for the company, told Zoning Board members the company plans to build a “behind the meter” net-metering solar project to meet their own electricity needs. The project will be located on a 47-acre parcel and include 5.3 acres of solar panels.
