Downtown Watkinsville s Pub on Main will soon close and the location will undergo a transformation into a familiar Athens franchise. The announcement was made on Wednesday by Pub on Main co-owner Scott Parrish via the establishment s official Facebook page.
Following Pub on Main s final day of operations on May 15, the restaurant will begin its transformation into a Blind Pig Tavern location, making it the fourth in the Athens area since the opening of the first Blind Pig in 1998.
Citing the 2020-21 business year as extremely difficult, Parrish s post thanked Pub on Main s loyal customer base for their support, encouragement and love, and noted that they would be in good hands with the Blind Pig team.
