Gasrec is to increase the size of its Bio-LNG tanker fleet by 300% over the next year to meet the rapidly growing demand for liquified natural gas from operators.
The company has recently taken delivery of its third cryogenic trailer from Bradford-based M1 Engineering, and has two more in build for completion in the next few months.
In addition, a further three tankers are expected to join the fleet in the second half of the year, in order to help replenish Gasrec refuelling stations across the UK.
The tri-axle tankers can carry up to 20 tonnes of Bio-LNG and will be operated by Reynolds Logistics using Volvo FM LNG 6x2 tractor units to pull the load.

Carrier Transicold and Gray & Adams have developed a demonstrator programme to showcase a new all-electric refrigerated trailer.
The new Carrier Transicold Vector eCoolTM system has been fitted to a new 13.6-metre demonstrator trailer utilising energy recovery and storage system to reduce carbon emissions.
The Vector eCool converts kinetic energy generated by the trailer axle and brakes into electricity, which is then stored in a battery pack powering the refrigeration unit. This loop creates a fully autonomous system that produces no direct carbon dioxide or particulate emissions.
