He took an Amtrak from his home in Georgia, transferring in New York City, to be in a Syracuse courtroom by 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. The trip by train took 25 hours, he said. Roundtrip fare will be nearly $900, and he got no financial help.

Facebook Share Syracuse, NY A Marietta man won’t spend time in jail after admitting that he fatally struck a South Side pedestrian in August 2019 and continued on to work. Charles Lunderman, 45, pleaded guilty to a felony Tuesday of leaving the scene of a serious crash without reporting it, a Class E felony. He had been charged with a higher level felony that carried a maximum sentence of 2 1/3 to 7 years in prison.
