Celtic move for Eddie Howe COLLAPSES after talks break down over his backroom team

662 shares The 43-year-old held preliminary talks with Celtic s major shareholder Dermot Desmond in London two months ago. In a statement launching season ticket renewals on Wednesday, Celtic told an increasingly irate fanbase of plans to finalise the appointment of the next manager shortly. And they believed they had their man. Asked to wait until Bournemouth s quest for promotion was finalised one way or the other the Parkhead club agreed to the delay. Club insiders insist Howe was given a blank slate to appoint a Director of Football and assemble his own backroom team before breaking the news that he wouldn t be moving to Scotland.

Greater Glasgow Police make 28 arrests after thousands of Rangers fans broke coronavirus regulations

Greater Glasgow Police s handling of Rangers fans title celebrations has been criticised after just 28 people were arrested following the gathering of thousands in Glasgow on Sunday to celebrate winning the Scottish Premiership. Chief Superintendent Mark Sutherland, divisional commander for Greater Glasgow, said a further seven people were issued with fixed penalty notices or will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal. Scotland is currently under tier 4 restrictions, which means mass gatherings are banned and the public are urged not to leave their homes amid the pandemic. There was also condemnation of Rangers deafening silence from Scotland s Deputy First Minister John Swinney but the club did break their silence with a statement on Monday afternoon.
