Walvis Bay, NamibiaThe search for oil and gas in the watershed of the world-famous, wildlife-rich Okavango Delta moved one step closer to reality when a multimillion-dollar drilling rig from Houston, Texas, broke ground on the first test well in Namibia on January 11.
The rig, retrofitted for drilling in the desert, had arrived in December on the 600-foot-long transport ship

Faculty respond to increase in campus density, rise in COVID cases The University of Miami welcomed back 14,920 undergraduate and graduate students to campus this spring, 1,200 more students than the previous semester.
The University of Miami provided a statement regarding the influx of students: “Given our successful completion of the fall 2020 semester and a greater understanding of how to adapt and respond to the challenges of COVID-19, we anticipated that more students would feel comfortable returning to campus for the spring 2021 semester.”

As a result of a competitive bidding process, ReconAfrica has contracted Polaris Natural Resources Inc, Canada’s longest standing seismic company to provide acquisition services for its first 2D seismic program.
