Parliament’s standing committee on public accounts will call public enterprises minister Pravin Gordhan, President Cyril Ramaphosa’s security adviser Sydney Mufamadi and the Eskom board next Wednesday.
Former Eskom CEO André de Ruyter has accused the Eskom board of overreach, saying non-executive directors immersed themselves in operational detail, including bypassing him to hold meetings with his subordinates.
“In true Ramaphosa fashion, the president has shirked responsibility entirely by sitting on his hands and doing nothing," said DA chief whip Siviwe Gwarube.
