"After a late-night collision in Baldwin, an intoxicated Patrick Destine allegedly followed the victim, David McKenzie, and repeatedly kicked and stomped on his head and left him to die," Nassau DA Anne Donnelly said.
The two drivers left their cars after the crash and began arguing. One then began "violently assaulting" the other driver and continuously kicked the victim, causing severe head trauma, police said.
A 26-year-old man, Patrick Destine, has been charged with murder in the 2nd degree and driving while intoxicated after assaulting a 54-year-old man at an intersection in Baldwin, resulting in severe head trauma and death.
