Economics of this before when congressman byron donalds made that same argument, you can feel free to watch that but as grothman spoke, he made this observation with an histologic twist every year of course, i am lobbied by people who want the government there, four to take up an even greater role in their children s life, be a daycare, be preschool after school programs, whatever they clearly want the children raised by the government so i hope the press corps picks up on this, and i hope republican and democratic leadership put together some sort of plan for january in which we work our way back to where america was in the 19 60s just to be very clear, this was the 1960s thanks. For watching newsnight, the news continues right now i m kaitlan collins since live in the nation s capital on what is a pivotal night, president biden just delivered his first solo news conference in eight months, one that came at a critical moment as he s seeking to shore up his reelection bid and regain th
My voice? that is huge for parents and for kids who are going back to school and pfizer is hopeful the vaccine will be available very soon. We intend to submit the data by the end of the month and then, of course, it will be up to the fda to review that data and determine whether the screen can be released for broad use. We hope that that will go expeditiously. And this pfizer news comes amid new questions about booster shots. Remember, it was this week the biden administration said they would start giving boosters to everyone, but now an fda panel has put the brakes on that idea and the question now is what do we do next? i want to dig deeper into all of this and bring in cnbc s senior health and science reporter meg tirrell, nbc s gabe gutierrez in spokane, washington, and dr. Kavita patel former policy director of the obama white house. Meg, give us the school on the pfizer vaccine. You can hear how excited i am. What is the timeline for when we can actually get our kids these shots
Demand fulsome answers and not the diplomatic psychobabble that we sometimes get in these hearings. Did biden ignore the counsel of his military and intelligence advisers? was keeping the embassy in afghanistan open really more important than keeping bagram air force base open? is every american out? and if not, why not? are the afghans who helped the u. S. And our allies out? how did the taliban take control so quickly? what leverage does the u. S. Have is left with the taliban? and why were u. S. Weapons left behind? and what damage has been done in the eyes of our allies? those are just some of the questions secretary blinken must answer. Joining me now is california congressman and ranking member of the house intelligence committee, devin nuñes. Welcome to you, congressman. Thank you for joining us. Great to be on with you tonight, trey. Thanks for having me. Trey: all right, congressman, you are not on the committee that will be holding this hearing, but if you were, what would y
Take on this law, because it was specifically designed to deflect legal challenges. We re really looking specifically who they re focused on, who is the defendant in whatever action they re going to take because historically when you want to challenge an over restrictive abortion law you would traditionally go after the government, the one who would be enforcing punishment for anyone that violated the law. Here the law is designed so it is not the government that imposes punishment. Every citizen is deputized to bring an action. That s why it is difficult to bring a challenge against the law. Even if you succeed in getting temporary or permanent relief against one person, you have all of these other people that can potentially sue these providers, which is right now providers say they re not performing abortions after six weeks. Now, the attorney general is under enormous pressure from fellow democrats to do something to stop this law, but so far the ideas he s put forth have really be
Nonvaccinated. It s 99. 9% those that have not been vaccinated that are responsible for these cases. It s a point that the president expects to pound again and again in about an hour. Welcome, everybody. I m neil cavuto, this is your world. First to peter doocy on what we ll hear out of the president and the argument that he will make to get tough now. Peter? neil, the white house thinks that they have given 4 million federal workers enough nudging to go and get vaccinated. So now if these federal workers don t get the shot, they could lose their jobs. Disciplinary action could include termination. Correct? correct. Hopefully it doesn t come to that. Our role is to convey to federal employees, the safety, the effectiveness of the vaccines that are readily available. Next, a sixpoint plan from the president. Vaccine requirements for feds and businesses with 100plus workers. Boothers starting in 11 days and testing for students and teachers. Extending mask mandates for interstate travel
