Student from honolulu, hawaii i am also a pell grant recipient who highly depends on Financial Aid to go to usf and i am very fortunate to attend a university that cares about academic success and individual growth inside and outside of the classroom. Not only myself, but 30 of usf population depends on the pell grant as well. I support the building of a New Residence hall because i understand the need of it on campus. I was on campus for two years and has not only been convenient for dining and studying purposes, but it offered a space as well as able to get involved in different campus clubs and organizations. Being involved on campus helps students become connected to their school, build community and allow for them to discover their passions and strengths. If it werent for the various clubs im involved in today, it wouldnt have shaped me to be the student leader i am today. I am very lucky enough to have found an apartment fairly close to school after an extensive fourmonth search.

When america made 12 years of Public Education universal in the last century, we became literally the best educated public in the world and better prepared than any other nation and i would argue that it is one of the reasons why we were so successful and have been so successful. As you have observed, other nations have caught up and in the 21st century, i think the vast majority of americans, 12 years of universal education is not enough. They were going to be outcompeted by the rest of the world. Here is the deal. Across Education Beyond High School has gone up significantly and the cost to attend the public for your anniversary has tripled in 40 years. Four Year Anniversary has tripled in 40 years. United states has cut back for their State University and leaving students to pick up more of the tab. 450 years, pell grant have been a key way for the federal government to help lower income families, particularly those who are earning less than 60,000 a year to send their kids to chop
