Miami-Dade Public Schools Starts 1st Wave Of Employee Vaccines

By wendi grossman Jan 22, 2021 The push is on to protect older teachers in Miami-Dade. The school district is offering COVID-19 vaccines to preregistered teachers and support staff at the 3 Jackson Health System sites this Saturday and Sunday. School Board Vice Chair Dr. Steve Gallon says protecting the health and well-being of these essential workers is vital to ensuring student learning continues. Just last month, Superintendent Alberto Carvalho sent a letter to Governor Ron DeSantis asking him to move teachers and support staff to the front of the vaccine line.
