Heartbreaking scene. We are on petaluma boulevard. Up ahead you can see authorities. They are making arrangements to try to tow the car out of the river. I am told its going to be quite a challenge. Now, what we know from the california Highway Patrol is that the car carrying a mother and two small children lost control and flipped into the petaluma river. The mother was not injured, but the two girls, sisters, were in the back seat and they could not get out and were killed. Their ages are four and seven. We are told that a passerby, firefighters and police dove into the water to try to save the girls. A witness told us that he was behind the car.
