Hundreds of jobs will be available during an automotive industry hiring event from 2-6 p.m. Thursday at the Tuscaloosa Career and Technology Academy, 2800 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
The public is invited to the event, hosted by West Alabama Works. Space will be available for interviews and there will be opportunities to enroll in training.
Nine companies will be on-site seeking applicants for jobs ranging from entry level to management-level positions. Minimum starting wage is $14 an hour.
Employers will be looking to hire production workers, assembly workers, forklift drivers, supervisors, operation managers and more. The automotive industry has played a large part in the economic development and growth of West Alabama and the state of Alabama as a whole,” said Donny Jones, executive director of West AlabamaWorks, in a news release.
