Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], May 17 (ANI/NewsVoir): Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences on Thursday donated Rs. 1 crore to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Public Relief fund towards COVID-19 relief.
Dr N.M. Veeraiyan, Founder and Chancellor SIMATS along with Dr Saveetha Rajesh, Director, Saveetha Medical College and Dr Deepak Nallaswamy, Director of Academics, SIMATS handed over the cheque to the Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M.K Stalin.
Saveetha Medical College Hospital has been the forerunner of COVID management in the state. The hospital has a robust COVID management policy, with apex COVID control room which coordinates and ensures high quality COVID clinical management for the five hundred COVID patients getting treated in the hospital. The hospital has successfully trained 250 doctors across all specialties and mobilised all resources to tackle the pandemic with full force and commitment.

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], April 10 (ANI/NewsVoir): Saveetha Medical College and Hospital announced their collaboration with Smile Train world s largest cleft organization to drive early diagnosis and intervention for children with clefts, as early as the fetal stage by educating healthcare professionals.
The partnership with smile train aims to create more awareness and eliminate myths surrounding clefts so that parents of children with clefts are well informed and bring forward children for treatment at an early stage. This collaboration will help support free cleft surgery to many underprivileged children in South region of India and especially in Tamil Nadu.

The hospital had performed 90 cleft lip and palate surgeries last year despite the COVID-19 pandemic Smile Train, an organisation providing free treatment for those with cleft lip and palate, will be collaborating with Saveetha Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) in providing comprehensive cleft care.
Announcing the partnership through a virtual interaction with the media on Friday, Saveetha Rajesh, Director, SMCH, said that the hospital was proud to collaborate with Smile Train and expressed hope that the partnership will help in surgeries and other treatment for cleft lip and palate being available to more number of children.
