Peel enters Second Dose Coast to Coast Challenge

July 7, 2021   ·   0 Comments By Rob Paul With Step Two of Ontario’s reopen now more than a week in, Peel and Caledon are continuing to see total weekly cases decreasing as vaccination coverage increases. Before entering Step Three of the reopening plan, the Province has to wait at least 21 days past June 30 to evaluate the situation, but has already surpassed vaccination targets to advance to that point. As of July 6, the Region sits at 111,441 total COVID-19 cases 139 more cases in the last seven days, a nearly 30 case decrease from the last seven-day cycle. There have been three more COVID related deaths in Peel over the last week bringing the Region to a total of 816.

Vaccines delivered to Peel Region, now available for seniors 80+

March 4, 2021   ·   0 Comments By ALYSSA PARKHILL Initiative Reporter Ontario has reported 966 new cases of COVID-19 across the province, with 30,800 tests completed.  The well-known hotspots reported numbers of 253 cases in Toronto, 99 in York, and 223 in Peel Region. Peel Region has totalled 61,311 cases with 58,429 resolved, 2,269 active and 613 deaths. 50,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were delivered to Peel Region in order to support more vulnerable, and eligible residents across the region. Trillium Health Partners, as well as William Osler Health, will be allowing a limited number of appointments for those 80 years of age and older, and state that more slots will become available as more vaccines are provided.
