The National Highways and Motorways Police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of the Pakistan Day Parade on March 23. Under the traffic plan, all types of heavy transport vehicles (HTVs) will be barred from entering Islamabad during the parade.
Freight HTVs will be barred entry in the federal capital between March 17 and 23 from 12:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Similarly, heavy traffic coming to the capital from Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway and Lahore-Islamabad Motorway will be barred on the parade day. The entry of heavy goods vehicles coming from the Grand Trunk road will also be closed for Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD: After a hiatus of seven long years, Capital Development Authority (CDA) has finally resolved a dispute with a previous contractor to pave the way towards restarting the stalled project of construction of a road from G.T. Road to D-12.
“The chronic dispute [between CDA and the contractor] has been settled; now we are going to award a new contract through competitive process,” said Director Road (North) Rana Tariq, adding that the civic body was now finalising the new estimate and hopefully the contract would be awarded next month.
