In an article called Tasty Treats Done Dirt Cheap, Missouri Life Magazine said, With its bright yellow, blue, and pink exterior, Java Jive stands out as a gathering place for locals and tourists alike. Located in historic downtown Hannibal, it s a welcoming place to relax over breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or just to grab a coffee.
Missouri Life went on to highlight menu items like Java Jive s cranberry chicken salad which is a lunchtime favorite. The coffee shop also has deli sandwiches and fresh pastries, along with unique gift items.

I asked Mark what it was like to see this kind of success in his debut book. “To know that we have inspired people and that our principles are making an impact feeds my soul in a way I didn t expect. It s a really cool feeling,” he said. “I encourage anyone to write a book but only if they are doing it for the right reasons. Do it to share wisdom or an opinion but don t do it to sell books. That part will come if you write something that is relevant to your audience.”
Hannibal Ramp Parks Opens for 2021 Season
In a sure sign of spring, the Hannibal Ramp Park opens for the season this weekend. The Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department ramps up the park on Saturday, March 6 for the first time in 2021.
The Ramp Park at Hannibal’s Huckleberry Park will be open noon to dark weekends in March, weather permitting. Starting April 1, the Ramp Park will be open after school on weekdays as well, 4 p.m. to dark.
The park is for roller skates, roller blades, skateboards, bicycles and scooters. The cost is $2 on weekdays and $3 on weekends. An annual pass costs $35.
Jobs Open for Hannibal Area Teenagers
This time of year, you’ll see queries about summer jobs available for teenagers. Not many places hire 15-year-olds, so those jobs are snatched up pretty quickly. At the Hannibal Aquatic Center, 30 summer jobs are available to the 15-and-older set.
Applications for summer jobs with the Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department are available now. They will be accepted until March 19. The city is looking to hire several dozen people to staff the Hannibal Aquatic Center. The pool needs 30 lifeguards. Applicants should be strong swimmers, but they don’t need to be pre-certified. The aquatics director will train and certify lifeguards. In addition to lifeguards, the Aquatic Center will hire front desk and concession workers.

th Judicial Circuit in northeast Missouri. Embrace Children and Families is located at 582 Clinic Road in Hannibal. EMBRACE stands for Encouraging, Mentoring, Believing In, Restoring, Affirming, Caring, and Engaging. It was created to provide resources for foster children and their families along their journeys.
