AFC Bournemouth have beaten the coronavirus pandemic to continue the tradition of giving Christmas presents to children on Poole Hospital’s children’s unit. Due to current restrictions, the club were unable to deliver gifts in person, so ordered presents which were delivered directly to the unit. The presents were handed out by staff in full personal protective equipment. Presents included toys and electronics to suit all ages of those staying on the unit, as well club-branded scarfs, blankets and hats. Holly Barnes, play specialist, said: “It has been wonderful to receive these presents. “This year has been quite miserable for a lot of people and Christmas will be hard enough in the hospital for many of our younger patients. Christmas feels so far removed for them this year.
