As the first China International Consumer Products Expo (“CICPE” or “Hainan Expo”) kicks off in Hainan, Sanya, located on the southern tip of Hainan Island also one of the most popular destinations in China.
The expo is making a splash as attendees from various provinces and cities flock to the island. The Sanya Tourism Promotion Board has readied itself to introduce a reinvigorated New Sanya backed by the Hainan Free Trade Port construction plan.
Taking place in Haikou between May 7 and 10, the Hainan Expo plays a pivotal role in the development of Hainan Island as an international tourism and consumption center and establishes a platform for the promotion and trade of international consumer products.

LagardeÌre Travel Retail has vowed to complement rather than compete following the opening of its new 30,000sq m downtown duty free store in Sanya, Hainan Island. The complex opened in partnership with Chinese state-owned enterprise Hainan Tourism Investment Development on 30 December 2020.
The impressive new facility joins a number of new stores opened on the tropical island towards the end of last year. These include the new
Sanya International Duty Free Plaza in Hainan Island operated by the China National Service Corporation for Chinese Personnel Working Abroad and a China Duty Free Group (CDFG) store at Sanya Phoenix International Airport Terminal 1.

The China National Service Corporation for Chinese Personnel Working Abroad (CNSC) has officially opened the first phase (15,000sq m) of its new Sanya International Duty Free Plaza in Hainan Island today
(30 December 2020).
Located at Hangzhou Square in downtown Sanya, CNSC Sanya International Duty Free Plaza is adjacent to the Sanya Yacht Marina and the Phoenix Island Central Business District.
Surrounded by high-end hotels and connected with convenient transportation, the project covers a total of 43,000sq m, with the flexibility to expand to 200,000sq m.
