Aptos High's girls track and field team won seven events and benefitted from its depth to win the team title at the SCCAL Championships at Soquel High on Monday.
Santa Cruz High's boys volleyball team earned the No. 1 seed in the Central Coast Section Open Division playoffs, it was announced at the seeding meeting Saturday.
At Santa Cruz High, boys volleyball is a way of life. Go to the beach and play volleyball after school. Then head to the gym for indoor practice in the evening. Bonding and community. On the court, it’s about having fun and winning games. Lots of wins.

Now a sophomore with Cal’s beach volleyball program – the No. 7-ranked NCAA Division I team in the country – the Santa Cruz High grad is the daughter of two elite volleyball players from France: Her father Laurent played professionally, while her mother Veronique Baudon suited up for the French junior national team.
