Five Menlo Park police officers were injured Saturday while arresting a reported “body builder” who was said to be running in and out of traffic while.
The Menlo Park City Council decided to keep one lane of downtown Santa Cruz Avenue closed to traffic between Curtis and Doyle streets, but will reopen Ryan s Lane near longtime Italian restaurant Carpaccio.
"I wanted to be a woman who could stand up for myself and all of the other victims who didn't have or don't have the strength to come forward and put themselves through this," shooting victim Jennifer Mackie said.
Menlo Park is moving forward with the city’s “streetaries” program, which allows for restaurants to expand outdoor dining areas into downtown streets that are closed to traffic.
