In January, a schedule for a theatre festival was circulated on social media, which mentioned that a play named âGodseâ would be performed on 30 January 2021, in Varanasi, the prime minister Narendra Modiâs parliamentary constituency in Uttar Pradesh. The festival, called âBenaras Rang Mohatsav,â is organised by the National School of Drama, Varanasi, and Sanskar Bharti, a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh affiliate. Nathuram Godse was a Hindu-supremacist fanatic who killed Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi
 on 30 January 1948. The inclusion of the âGodseâ play in the program invited backlash from civil society in Varanasi.Â

Lankamura (Tripura) [India], January 18 (ANI): The three-day Poush Parban fair, a state government initiative, concluded in Lankamura village of West Tripura District on Sunday. The fair, held for the first time, aims to revive the traditional arts, crafts and cuisine of the state, besides promoting tourism. The Sanskar Bharti, an organisation that works for the promotion of Indian art and culture has worked jointly with the Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC) and Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA), department of the government of Tripura to organise this festival for the first time with an aim to revive the lost traditional arts and crafts beside using the platform to launch new products to assess the marketing capability, said Amir Chand, organiser of the event and National Secretary of Sanskar Bharti.
