Manipur CM inaugurates MANITEX 2022 - Eastern Mirror

Our Correspondent Imphal, Nov.5 (EMN): In an effort to promote the weavers and their products on the international platform, Manipur International Textile Expo popularly known as MANITEX 2022 was formally inaugurated at the Urban Haat Nilakuthi in the outskirts of Imphal. The Expo, organised by the Directorate of Handlooms and Textiles, will continue till November 14. Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, accompanied by Ministers Th Biswajit Singh(Power, Forest, Environment & Agriculture),Nemcha Kipgen(Textiles, Commerce & Industry), Minister L Susindro Meitei(Consumer Affairs Food and Public Distribution),Kashim Vashum(Transport)and Chairman Kh Ibomcha of Manipur Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd., were present during the inaugural function. AMTDGF calls off economic blockade in Manipur

Our Correspondent Imphal, Nov 4 (EMN): The indefinite economic blockade in Manipur, called by the All Manipur Tribals Development Grievances Forum (AMTDGF) from midnight of Nov. 3, was called off on Friday. The indefinite economic blockade was called by AMTDGF, demanding the 100 percent release of MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) funds to all districts of Manipur. The forum called off the blockade imposed along the National Highway-2 (Dimapur to Imphal) and National Highway-37 (Jiribam-Imphal) after the state government assured the release of remaining funds under MGNREGA to all districts of Manipur. AMTDGF also appealed to the state government to release all the executives and blockade supporters detained by police without any condition. It may be noted that the state police had detained six people in Manipur in connection with the blockade. Kut festival celebrated across Manipur - Eastern Mirror

Our Correspondent Imphal, Nov. 1 (EMN): Chavang Kut, a post harvest festival of the Kuki-Chin-Mizo community was celebrated across Manipur on Tuesday. The state level festival was celebrated on the theme ‘Unity through culture’ at Tuibong in Manipur’s Churachandpur district.
