Rishi Sunak made his traditional pre-Budget pose outside Number 11 Downing Street with the red briefcase before heading to the House of Commons to unveil the Budget for the coming year.
A new UK Infrastructure Bank to boost net zero investment and green savings bonds were among the measures he announced.
The new Budget aims to protect jobs and livelihoods, fix public finances and lay the foundation for a future economy.
Mr Sunak began his speech by saying the government would do ‘whatever it takes’ to set ambitious goals for the coming months.

A new indoor baseball training facility has opened at Reston Station.
The 6,000-square-foot facility, known as Reston Bullpen, is a training facility for local little league and high school teams. It’s located at 1901 Reston Metro Plaza.
Comstock, the developer of Reston Station, worked with Bradley Baseball Academia, a baseball training school, to design the facility. Local teams can schedule practice times for individual and team practice, conditioning clinics and skill drills for free.
The facility includes several pitching and batting tunnels as well as a weight and aerobics gym.
“Playing youth baseball and softball teaches some of life’s greatest lessons to young people,” said Timothy J. To casual observers and critics alike, punk was considered a flash-in-the-pan genre, just another degenerate subculture that would fade quicker than a searing, loud-as-hell album after turning off the electricity. Unfortunately for them, punk was more permanent and corrosive, like rust gnawing on the chrome empire of music. Thomas Tarbox Kiersted, known to wear his signature flannel shirts and pink converse, was at the forefront of that genre in Houston in the early 1980s. His sudden unexpected death has left the community reeling.
Punk produced a dizzying array of styles and manufactured output, whether amateur fanzines chock-a-block with interviews and scribbles spewed out of Xerox machines or homemade tapes unleashing an endless barrage of noise across the world. But the most preferred transmission, the weapon of choice, was the 45 rpm 7-inch single. And the Degenerates, who first emerged in 1979, created an epic slice of that early punk output in town. Releasing their self-title
