In February, Lordstown announced with much fanfare that an off-road version of the Endurance electric pickup truck would attempt to complete the single-loop 290-mile (467-km) race in Baja California, Mexico, one of the toughest off-road races out there. The focus would not be on completing the race in a short time since the Endurance would need recharging along the way. Instead, they would focus on testing the in-wheel hub motors and battery technology and using the data to improve the production version. That one is expected to start deliveries in September 2021.

The much-anticipated and highly mediated debt of the Lordstown Endurance electric pickup truck turned out to be more of a flash in the pan-type of thing. But it’s not all bad news.
The Endurance skateboard, dressed up in the finest off-road racing body and gear by Brenthel Industries, was only able to complete 40 miles (64.3 km) of the race before retiring. Lordstown Motors announced the result in a post on social media and, without offering an explanation for the shortened race, declared themselves satisfied with the result.
The announcement regarding participation in the race was made in February this year. Lordstown said it would be testing the in-wheel motors and battery technology at the SCORE San Felipe 250 race in Baja California, Mexico, arguably one of the toughest challenges on earth. The goal was never to make it to the finish line in time but to complete the single-loop 290-mile (467-km) race and collect data that wou

In February this year, Lordstown announced that the Endurance skateboard would be custom fit with a new body and brought to San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico, to complete the single-loop 290-mile (467-km) race. The race takes place on April 17, and Lordstown is keeping its promise.
The first video at the bottom of the page shows an Endurance Beta, presumably one of the two that rolled off the production line recently, and the San Felipe racing version, which is visibly higher, tougher, and safer. According to Lordstown, this custom truck uses the 109 kWh battery and 600 hp drivetrain with the four hub motors and features upgraded suspension and all mandatory safety equip

Lordstown has entered the Endurance Beta Skateboard into the race, which is part of the SCORE World Desert Championship race series. The 2021 SCORE International San Felipe 250 will take place on April 17 and comprises a single-loop 290-mile (467-km) race that starts and finishes in San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico.
The Endurance pickup was officially introduced last summer, but it’s not the pickup that will be doing the racing, as noted above. The Beta Skateboard will be doing that so that Lordstown can test out its motor hub technology and see how it fares in terms of fulfilling the company’s promise to deliver a truck that is safe and efficient and also
