Flashback to the year 2000 when the Los Angeles Avengers were seven games into their inaugural season. Even after an inaugural home victory over the Portland Thunder last week, it just seems like the LA KISS have yet to be tested. Their first two wins have been against opponents who have had little experience in a different style of football, and many of the players know that most of these games against formidable opponents have to be earned.
When you play against a team like Cleveland, they don t make mistakes, wide receiver Samie Parker said. They came in 3-0 for a reason and they were ready for us. If we were able to keep the ball in front of us, play our game and use our experience, we knew that there would have been chances that we could have hung at the end of the game.

The Los Angeles KISS needed a rebound game with the losses they have been going through. On the road against the Iowa Barnstormers last week, nothing went right. Quarterback J.J. Raterink was still out of sync, throwing three of the five interceptions as a team. Donovan Morgan was quiet on the stat sheet. Penalty yards also kept tallying up too, feeding chances for the Barnstormers which propelled them to win 31-12. So what better way than to come back to the Honda Center in front of their own crowd for two straight home games.
It is unfortunate though, that the San Jose SaberCats had to visit the KISS first. A team that has been around for nearly 20 years, they were once a team that had talked about being a dynasty, appearing in four ArenaBowls during the 2000 decade, winning three of them.
