Nearly a dozen tornadoes likely touched down in Tennessee on Tuesday including one in the greater Nashville area, the National Weather Service confirmed.
John Cohen, a meteorologist with NWS in Nashville, said its probable EF-0 tornadoes registering speeds of 65-85 mph struck at least 11 counties.
According to preliminary damage estimates and radar returns, Cohen said, the tornadoes probably occurred in Davidson, Robertson, Cheatham, Sumner, Trousdale, Jackson, Smith, Dekalb, White, Bedford and Cumberland counties.

Severe storms moved across Middle Tennessee starting around sunrise Tuesday morning, bringing heavy rain and some small scale tornadoes.
