Utah Senate’s Majority Caucus Holds Special Election
Utah Governor Spencer Cox appointed Sen. Dan Hemmert, R-Orem as Director of the Governor s Office of Economics. Hemmert had served as Majority Whip in the Utah Senate. Tuesday, the majority caucus elected Sen. Ann Millner, R-Ogden to fill that seat. Sen. Kirk Cullimore, R-Sandy, will step into Millner’s former position as Assistant Majority Whip.

Teacher COVID-19 vaccine rollouts delayed for some Utah school districts

SALT LAKE CITY â Utah teachers could get the COVID-19 vaccine later than they had originally planned, after the Utah Department of Health explained they haven t been receiving as many doses of the vaccine as they thought they would receive.
While school districts adjust plans, for Salt Lake City School District in particular, this could create a complicated situation for teachers.
Jenny Johnson, spokesperson for the Utah Department of Health, said vaccine shipments come in each week and they don t have a lot of notice on how many doses they are receiving.

Mitt could use a friend. But Harry Truman said it best, “If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog.” So get Romney a puppy, as long as he promises not to put it on the roof of the family station wagon.

To Utah House Speaker Brad Wilson,
I have often heard you pontificate on how much you value and appreciate teachers. Your recent decision to deny bonuses to Salt Lake City teachers contradicts your feel-good statements and letters of appreciation. Your attempt to withhold bonuses from already laughably under-salaried professionals is the wrong way to go. It punishes teachers for decisions outside of their control.
