Unsafe food consumption is a global health concern that affects millions of people daily. According to Saima Wazed, the WHO Regional Director for South East Asia, approximately 1.6 million people worldwide fall ill daily due to the consumption of unsafe food.
On this World No Tobacco Day, the youth across the world called for the tobacco industry to stop targeting them with products that are harmful to their health.
The Southeast Asia region, which includes India, has about 411 million adult tobacco users the highest globally, said Saima Wazed, WHO Regional Director on Thursday on the eve of World No Tobacco Day.
