Stop Vicious Attacks On Southern Kaduna, Amnesty International Tasks Nigerian Government

The Amnesty International has decried the incessant attacks on communities in Southern Kaduna and other killings in Nigeria.    It, therefore, called on Nigerian authorities to immediately and decisively end such vicious attacks.    The global human rights organisation lamented the attacks on Malagum 1 and Sokwong communities of Kagoro Chiefdom in the Kaura Local Government Area, where over 28 people were reportedly massacred.

No fewer than six persons including three personnel of the Nigeria Police Force were killed on Monday when terrorists, locally dubbed as bandits, invaded Yar Bulutu weekly market in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State. The attack came on a day President Muhammadu Buhari was in the state to declare the Chief of Army Staff’s 2022 Conference open. The bandits were said to have attacked the market around 12:30pm.

2023 Elections: Nigerian Man Arrested With 101 Permanent Voter Cards

  The Sokoto State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has arrested a man for being in possession of 101 permanent voter cards (PVCs).   The man identified as Nasiru Idris is from Sabon Birni Local Government Area of the state.   According to the state police commissioner, CP Hussain Gumel, the suspect was arrested on October 10 at Sabon Birni following credible information.   Gumel, however, said that when the suspect was questioned, he could not explain how he came about the 101 PVCs.
